Fabulous Friday is finally here again is it a good day or bad? I don't know why but it seems to brighten my glow when I think about the arrival of this special day.  I was wondering how Friday came about and did a little research and found out a few things about Friday and what it meant in different times and situations. FRIDAY has been an inauspicious day for a very long time, and in many varied cultures. It has been held to be both unlucky and as a day when evil influences are at work.  In Ancient Rome, Friday was execution day.  In some pre-Christian Religions Friday was a day of worship, so those who involved themselves in secular or self-interested activities on that day were not likely to receive the blessings of the gods on their undertakings. Jeremiah 29:11, NIV For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Wow my Pastor spoke on this verse at the end of last year.  When I looked back at my bible and read the electronic note I had written it said "the year to get better" I read this note several times trying to remember the significance of me writing these five words, but nothing came to mind.  I searched the Internet to see what others had written on this bible verse and found so many blogs, post and forums.  I was truly amazed that the majority of the information focused around the same concept which was a purpose driven life.  I took this to mean that God had a purpose for me and I needed to start listening closely.  I prayed and listened but nothing happened until a doctors appointment that my youngest son was driving me too.  I saw a scripture on the side of a building to my surprise it was the same scripture ...

Living My Life Like Its Golden back in August 2004 Jill Scott came out with a song living my life like it's golden.  What was the artist true meaning behind the lyrics especially the chourus  "I'm holding on to my freedom, Can't take it from me, I was born into it, It comes naturally, I'm strumming my own freedom, Playing the god in me, Representing his glory, Hope he's proud of me," My thoughts are that she knew that during everyone's life they experience some bumps and bruises but you have to live thru it and move on and remember no one can steal your joy or happiness they only have the power if you give it to them. So as you encounter turmoil and strife remember Jill Scott's song Living My Life Like It's Golden and push past the issue :-)

Today I realized its not necessary to sweat the small stuff. There are so many people in this world that would love to see you fail but I just have to remember to keep my eyes on the true prize which is what God has in store for me. "It is an honor for a man to cease from strife" Proverbs 20:3, KJV I take this to mean don't allow others to shift your focus on the true Giant you must fight.....

I often find true inspiration when I remember all those wise quotes my family members have restated, the original authors would be proud to know there words have traveled many miles throughout the years.
