Fabulous Friday is finally here again is it a good day or bad? I don't know why but it seems to brighten my glow when I think about the arrival of this special day. I was wondering how Friday came about and did a little research and found out a few things about Friday and what it meant in different times and situations.
FRIDAY has been an inauspicious day for a very long time, and in many varied cultures. It has been held to be both unlucky and as a day when evil influences are at work.
In Ancient Rome, Friday was execution day.
In some pre-Christian Religions Friday was a day of worship, so those who involved themselves in secular or self-interested activities on that day were not likely to receive the blessings of the gods on their undertakings. Which may go a long way to explain the superstition of not embarking on journeys or starting important projects on Fridays.
From the Christian bible:
- Friday is reputed to be the day Eve gave Adam the apple.
- It is said to be the day Adam & Eve were expelled from the Garden of Eden.
- Friday is also reputed to be the day they (Adam & Eve) died.
- The Great Flood is supposed to have started on a Friday.
- God was said to have struck the builders of the Towel of Babel and created the confusion of many tongues, on a Friday.
- The Temple of Solomon was destroyed on a Friday.
- Christ was crucified and died on a Friday.
It is said accidents are more common on Fridays, however, that may be more because Friday is the end of the work week and people are hurrying to get away from work, than any sinister reasons.
Wow I guess your saying where is she going with this it seems so negative, but when there is a negative a positive is sure to follow and here it goes :-)
My thoughts are that Friday is Fabulous and if you start with a positive thought you can end with one, so with that said lets start this Fabulous Friday with a prayer Father in Heaven, Thank You for this Fabulous Friday Thank You for Your joy which is my strength. I trust You have a good plan for me, and I know I will be able to laugh during this day. Let my joy be contagious to all who hear me today so this Friday and all other days will bring peace and joy to all In Jesus Name Amen
Living My Life Like Its Golden back in August 2004 Jill Scott came out with a song living my life like it's golden. What was the artist true meaning behind the lyrics especially the chourus "I'm holding on to my freedom, Can't take it from me, I was born into it, It comes naturally, I'm strumming my own freedom, Playing the god in me, Representing his glory, Hope he's proud of me," My thoughts are that she knew that during everyone's life they experience some bumps and bruises but you have to live thru it and move on and remember no one can steal your joy or happiness they only have the power if you give it to them. So as you encounter turmoil and strife remember Jill Scott's song Living My Life Like It's Golden and push past the issue :-)
